There will be a wood sale today at Frost Fields (3150 Frost Road, off Spruston Road south of Nanaimo). During the wood sale time Ed Tremblay will demonstrate how to flatten a large board or slab using a router and a home-made jig. Peter Hentze will also demonstrate cutting a board from a log using the Wood-Mizer.

Wood species to be sold include maple, beech, alder, holly, black locust, spruce, arbutus, London plane tree, walnut, fir, and cedar.

Only members of Mid-Island Woodworkers’ Guild (and members of Vancouver Island Woodworkers’ Guild) may buy wood at this time, however, annual memberships in MIWG are only $50 (plus an initiation fee of $25 for new members). Since our memberships are pro-rated on a half-yearly basis, membership to the end of 2019 is only $25. Buy your membership at the wood sale, and then purchase the wood that you need! (Our basic wood price is $2.50 per board foot. Compare with other pricings!)
