History of MIWG

The Mid-Island Woodworkers’ Guild (MIWG) was started in 2016 as a resource for people interested in all facets of woodworking on central Vancouver Island.  The goal was to help bring together people who want to learn more about woodworking as well as those who have experience and to share knowledge and skills with one another.

We do this through monthly meetings (September thru June) and with a variety of outbound activities like shop tours, wood sales for members, woodworking displays and seminars and teaching/learning environments when available.

Another key element of the Guild is to help foster and grow woodworking in public schools by assisting where we can and by providing materials to the schools.

Guests are always welcome and we invite you to come out to a meeting and see in person what you too could become involved with!
