One-day workshop on hand-carving at Frost Fields.

Time: 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

What the workshop will cover:

• ➢  Hand tools—an overview of knives, chisels and gouges with examples
• ➢  Sharpening methods—demo of knife sharpening, discussion of options
• ➢  Power tools—a short demo on rotary carving tools
• ➢  Completing a shorebird carving out of butternut using a pre-cut “blank” You will be guided step-by-step by the instructor.

What to bring:

➢ Lunch
➢ Knife (optional), you may bring your own or borrow one
➢ Shop apron and protective gloves (recommended, but optional)
