There will be a wood sale this coming Saturday, May 7 until noon or 12:30. We have a large stock of bowl blanks to be sold as well as our regular inventory of boards, many of which are now stored vertically for easy viewing. Mid-Island Woodworkers’ Guild members are encouraged to be there at 9:00 a.m. to get first pick of the wood since Island Woodturners and Vancouver Island Woodworkers’ Guild members have also been invited to attend beginning at 10:00 a.m. Luckily for us, the previously stored wood is not drying very quickly due to the current weather conditions. In addition we need some volunteers to assist as Roger de Bucy tackles cutting up a new supply of great wood pieces that were gathered last weekend. If you can plan on helping Roger, please bring or wear appropriate safety gear – steel toed boots, ear and eye protection, and if you have breathing issues – dust masks.

Our newly appointed committee for food supplies will ensure that coffee is available, and hot dogs will be served in the late morning. If possible, bring your own coffee mug to save on waste. (A folding chair might be a good idea if your plan is to sit and relax!)
